Retaining Walls
Concrete and Timber Sleepers
The retaining walls we do as part of our structural landscaping work are generally made from timber or concrete sleepers.
For strength and durability, we prefer concrete sleepers over timber.
Concrete sleeper walls use Galvanised “H” and “C” posts concreted in ground. The sleepers are 200mm high, so walls can be built in 200mm height increments.
The concrete sleepers are slotted into the grooves int eh galvanised posts.

If you prefer Timber sleepers, we are happy to install them too. Sometimes timber sleepers provide the look you are after.
Fencing on top of Retaining Walls
Fencing can be installed on top of sleeper walls, or the fence posts can be concreted in-ground hard up against (in front or behind) the sleepers.
It is important to have your retaining wall installed correctly. If we are required to obtain engineering Certification for your retaining wall, we will arrange this.
We often install Timber sleepers under our fences (hard up against or between the fence posts) not so much for retaining, but to close the gap under the fence and to keep garden matter etc in place.
Other concreting
Concrete Pads for Sliding Gates
We install many sliding gates, and in most cases we need to install a concrete pad for the gate to slide along.
Gate pads are generally approx. 300mm wide by 150mm deep and need to be almost as long as your gate, so that the gate can open fully.
In some cases, we need to incorporate retaining into the slide pad design where the earth is built up around the slide pad.
General Concreting
We carry out general concreting work as part of our fencing projects.
Examples include:
- Small pedestrian walkways
- Mow strips under fences
- Build up guttering around new fence posts (usually to provide a small amount of retaining)
- Pads for equipment to be fixed to (eg Airconditioning equipment).
Commercial & Industrial
We work with commercial and industrial property owners to provide a range of fencing options including chainwire fencing and gates, steel security fencing, storage cages, aluminium slat panels and more.
Schools
We work with government and independent schools providing a range of fencing including chainwire, steel security, pool fencing, cages and fencing for various sporting facilities such as ovals and courts.
Public Infrastructure
We carry out fencing projects for the following Public Infrastructure Facilities: Pump stations, power stations and sub stations, water sewerage plants, dams, airports, boat ramps, transport interchanges, shopping centres, ports and more.
Sporting Facilities
We work with sporting clubs, local councils and schools to install fencing across a range of sporting facilities such as football and cricket fields, tennis and multipurpose courts, gyms, axe throwing and others.
